After 7 years, the previous repairs failed whilst on a laning trip in the Peak District, my radiator panel gave way, the rad fell backwards into the engine bay and the fan began to munch its way through the plastic cowling. I strapped it up and limped home.
I bit the bullet and ordered a new rad panel from the main dealer, £320 wasn’t as scary as I thought it might be. Finding a local body shop who welded in the new panel for me, and finished it off in a heavy duty bed liner paint.
I then fitted a new radiator because the top mounting tabs had snapped off the old one as it was being thrown around the engine bay. I flushed the cooling system and refilled with genuine (and expensive) coolant.
Hopfully this will last another few years now.
